Why doesn't Healing Species rescue cats?
We wish we could save the world! As a small and originally family-run and family-funded organization for years, our accommodations are limited to providing safe haven for dogs… at the moment. But we are very open to assistance to help us grow our resources!
What are the Sanctuary’s greatest needs?
We do need monetary support. Veterinary care, de-worming, tick and flea treatments, housing, taxes, upkeep of fencing, and manpower to care for the dogs is expensive! Please make a generous donation if you possibly can. Founder, President and full time volunteer Cheri Brown Thompson takes no salary or expenses. We do require some dependable, reliable, dog-care-givers who are paid a nominal allowance. We do not receive free veterinary care. Taking dogs that no one else wants usually means getting sick dogs – which can be expensive. THANK YOU FOR CARING!
